Improving to 2-1 on the season, PC defeated the Sacred Heart Pioneers 111 to 87. Sacred Heart stayed close through the first 12 minutes, but the Friars pulled away, going on a 12-0 run and never looking back.
Sophomore Marshon Brooks, who had a career high 18 points on Tuesday, was the star of the game. Brooks set a new career high with 24 points in the first half. Brooks scored 30 points in total. That’s the first time a PC player has scored 30 points since Randall Hanke in 2005.
PC has now scored 100 points in the past two games. The last time the Friars scored 100 points or more in back to back games was during the 90-91 season.
By instituting a full court press early on in the game, PC ended the game with fifteen steals. Brooks lead the team with 5 steals.
Head Coach Keno Davis was very pleased with his squad’s effort. Highlighting his teams “unselfish” play at the end of the game and overall versatility, Davis is convinced that PC can beat anyone this year if their shots drop.
