The Boston Bruins just won their season opener in Colorado against the Avalanche, 5-4. It was a hard fought, back-and-forth game. It was also the first time the Bruins have won their first road game of the season since 2000! That year, they won at Philadelphia, 5-1.

To add to the good news, the Bruins only have 3 more games on the road before returning home. The past two seasons, they’ve started with 5-game road trips, in 2003 and 2005 they played 6 on the road after starting the season with one at home, and in 2002 they started with 6 straight on the road.

Mark it on your calendar: first home game this year, Pittsburgh at Boston, Monday the 20th at 7pm.
