Justin Masterson’s name was thrown around a lot this past off-season. He was thought to be part of trade for Johan Santana, then a possible late-season spot-starter or reliever in light of Curt Schilling’s injury. However, few observers thought that the young sinkerballer would be contributing at the major League level this early, especially after he was sent to Portland at the end of March. Masterson has been a revelation over his first 4 starts for the Red Sox, posting a 3-0 record with a 2.59 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP. Kaitlyn Laabs sat down with Masterson to talk about his whirlwind season.
