Providence’s local music talents were on full display at last night’s Lupo’s Summer Block Party. It was quite an affair: two stages, one dunk tank, eight bands, and nearly nine hours of local music.

WBRU’s 2009 Rock Hunt and Venue Hunt winners will meet face to face (or face to…stage?) to remind us all why they’re the champions that they truly are.
Saturday’s Rock Hunt Semi-Finals will not be soon forgotten—at least not by me or any of the other BRU Crew people present at the Wheel House in Narragansett. Not only did we get to see a band that hinted of Incubus and Coldplay, the solo project of a member of Big D and the Kids Table, and an act that rocked so hard they made more than half the room form a mosh pit, but we literally got booed out of the place.
