Among the hordes of crowd surfers and tireless dancers in the pit, a sold-out crowd that reached the far-back rows of the balcony was captivated by the genuine surge of music, power, and dedication to sound that the Silversun Pickups perfected last Saturday night at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel.
Wednesday’s Birthday Bash show mixed grit and grace, dirt and disco, punk and polyester. Although Gallows and AFI have roots in the same music genre, their performances highlighted that they lie on opposite ends of the spectrum. Together, they treated the audience to a very enjoyable concert.
