I biked down to Lupo’s last Saturday to see M-80’s reunion show, and made it in time to catch all of Big D and the Kids Table’s opening performance. Although the lighting was a pain for photos (see below), Big D was a blast and got the floor moving with an assortment of dancing and moshing. M-80 put on a perfectly informal and fun performance, amping up an audience that could still sing along with every word. In between songs, the band managed to talk to or make a comment about just about every single person in the crowd. It was a causal and intimate experience – and the only performance I’ve ever seen where a guitarist left the stage to pee mid-show and missed the first half of a song!
