All the old barbers who read this blog, listen up (I know you’re out there). If you ever had the fortune of cutting Elvis Presley’s hair, I hoped you saved some of it. This past Saturday, a lock of Elvis’ hair, cut by his personal barber Homer Gill Gilleland sold at an auction in the UK for about $1,500. Just weeks before, another of the King’s curls went for $15,000 at an auction in Chicago. I’m not well versed in what makes one clump of hair 10 times more expensive than another, but I would assume it’s due to size and silky-smoothness.
