Weezer’s strange bedfellow collaborations with Kenny G, Chamillionaire, and Sara Bareilles on the recent AOL Live Sessions recording are finally posted!

Can’t Stop Partying [ft. Chamillionaire]
If You’re Wondering If I Want You To (I Want You To) [ft. Sara Barellies]
I appreciate that Weezer is trying to experiment by working with new groups, but giving Kenny G a saxophone solo in the middle of your song doesn’t really constitute a collaboration in my opinion.
Also, the jury’s still out on why Kenny G, who has almost no familiarity with Weezer, would want to collaborate with them?
That said, I enjoyed Sara Barellies’ soothing sound since she offsets what I like to call – the Rivers effect – the somewhat spastic, often random outburst of energy he gets when performing.
Also, to Chamillionaire, I think we know that the band singing the song into which you insert a few completely random lyrics is called Weezer. Don’t really need the update.
Although this particular live recording session was very hit and miss for me, Kenny G’s comment prior to recording is pure gold:
“Waiting for the cameras to roll, the guitar player was playing something and I played along, and we both looked at each other and thought, ‘That could be a nice little thing.’ They mentioned in an e-mail following up that they may want to record that thing. So, we’ll see.”
Yes Kenny G, we will see if your crazy jazz-rock sub genre takes root.
