Big Names Play Band Hero

Band Hero

Band Hero, the Rock Band-esque addition to the Guitar Hero franchise, has been bringing in big names to star in their ads.

Imagine for a second: Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, Travis barker of Blink 182, and Taylor Swift.  Then, picture all of those people in “Risky Business” get-up playing plastic instruments.

Yes, that actually happened.  Check out the video here.

Both Weezer and Fall Out Boy recently opened for Blink 182 on their tour this summer.  Wentz, in an interview, spoke highly of both Barker and Cuomo and was excited to be collaborating with them on this project (however hokey the premise).

Pete Wentz also had a few interesting comments about being Tom Cruise: “The slide was pretty bizarre. I gotta admire Tom Cruise, because you have to slide so your slide lands on the beat, and you have to slide at just the right place so the next person can slide at just the right place,… And they would Lysol it. And sometimes it’d be way slippery. There was a time when I slid offstage.”

Wentz, like many famous guitarists, doesn’t think he would perform particularly well playing the game.  He should really work on his button pushing.

Band Hero is currently available in stores.
