…at least in the traditional sense. An EP written for and performed by a full orchestra? That’s another story.
Thom Yorke, in an interview with NME, has expressed his desire not to put out any new full albums for a while. While their last studio release, In Rainbows, was a huge success, the band’s frontman says he and the group don’t plan to release another “creative hoo-ha of a long-play record” for a while, less they “kill” Radiohead by constantly releasing albums in a traditional way.
…since when is releasing anything in a pick-what-you-pay format traditional?
Whether or not you choose to believe Thom Yorke, expect more EPs and online releases like “Harry Patch (In Memory Of)” and possibly a batch of orchestral songs, courtesy of Yorke and guitarist Jonny Greenwood.
