Macca has set a record for the most well-attended two-night engagement in Fenway Park history. His brief run with MGMT on August 5th and 6th was one of the middle stops on his North American tour, which will end on August 19th in Dallas. Live Nation employee Dave Marsden commented humorously yet truthfully, “No one in history has ever had 33 hits in one night at Fenway Park,” referring to McCartney’s well-received setlist, which closed with “Hey Jude” followed by two encores.
Rumors that the 70-year-old McCartney is planning a farewell tour for 2010 still abound, though nothing has yet been confirmed.
