New, More Artist-Friendly Label Spawned By Radiohead Manager

Most disappointing thing about today: Googling “In Rainbows” and finding out that it’s no longer available for free download. Best thing about today: finding out that the free album isn’t dead just yet, thanks to Brian Message, who co-manages Radiohead.

According to NME.com, specific details are not yet available about this label (to be named Polyphonic), but the eager should expect bands who sign with this label to release albums in a pick-what-you-pay format, similar to the one in which 2007’s “In Rainbows” was released. Meanwhile, interested artists can expect a 50% share of profits at start-up and the opportunity to keep their copyright. Read: Suck it, Ticketmaster.
